A UNION BUILT ON TRUST

PTECSSAN is a Trade Union born out of necessity. It was conceived out of the need to fill the vacuum created with the privatization and boom of the telecommunications and communications services in Nigeria over 21 years ago. The absence of a Trade Union with jurisdiction in the sector made the workers vulnerable to incessant dismissal, sack, vilification, humiliation, unfriendly and unacceptable working conditions.

Because of the absence of a union with jurisdictional scope among, hitherto, existing Trade Unions to protect the workers from precarious working conditions, PTECSSAN was registered as a union in the private telecommunications and communications industry. The registration relied on the judgement of National Industrial Court (NIC) of 2009.

We have meticulously brought together, working as our engine room, seasoned trade unionists with several years of experience in labour activism and capacity to confront daunting challenges workers in private telecommunications and communications organisations face.

We have no doubt that our painstaking and worthwhile efforts will help us achieve our goal of liberating Nigerian workers in the sector
